Annual Giving Projects

An Annual Gift to the National Gallery of Canada Foundation will support many of the Gallery's specialized and important educational programs, exhibitions, acquisitions, restorations, and publishing projects.

Projects generously supported by our patrons include:

  • The restoration of Dead Christ Supported by Angels, the NGC fragment of Paolo Veronese’s 16th century masterpiece, the Petrobelli Altarpiece; the catalogue celebrating Veronese, the work and its restoration; and the presentation of the reunified altarpiece at the NGC 
  • The completion of the research for the digitization of Colin MacDonald’s unique online Dictionary of Canadian Artists
  • The acquisition of 17 important prints and drawings from the collection of the 9th Earl of Dalhousie
  • Education and outreach activities supporting the exhibition Lord Dalhousie: Patron and Collector
  • The acquisition of David Then and Now, created by Canadian artist Micah Lexier
  • The March Break and Educational Day Camps Programs for 2006 and 2007 which offered students interesting art activities inspired by the Gallery’s exhibitions and collections
  • Published for the 2005 exhibition Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and the Renaissance in Florence, the Petit Cahier provided wonderful information on painting techniques and composition styles used in Florence during the Renaissance.
  • The award winning Index to the National Gallery of Canada Exhibition Catalogues and Checklists 1880-1930, 2005, Library and Archives, NGC
